The aim
EuroGenomics Cooperative drives progress in bovine breeding
Within the EuroGenomics Cooperative, the partners focus on driving genetic progress by:
- Genotyping for breeding and herd management;
- Sharing of genetic data for reliable traits;
- Performing applied research;
- Genomic evaluation of animals based on the joint European reference population;
High reliability
Due to the large number of bulls included in the reference population, the official genomic breeding values based on the EuroGenomics reference population are the most reliable predictions of a bull’s breeding qualities under European production systems.
Knowledge Network
The EuroGenomics Consortium offers a broad knowledge network as several research institutes are linked to the cooperative. This allows EuroGenomics Cooperative to be most up-to-date when it comes to developments in the breeding and reproduction field.
