About ORIGEN Plus

Located in Normandy, ORIGENPLUS comes from the union of UNOG and CIA de l’Aigle (former UNECO) progeny testing programs. ORIGENPLUS aims to offer highest genetic products, coming from the best international pedigrees, and that present all the sanitary requirement.

About 200 people are involved in their activities, including artificial Insemination and progeny testing scheme. Thus, ORIGENPLUS is in first place with more than 350.000 AIs in most of Normandy. Each year, around 6000 testing cows are classified and controlled on milk production by the National Dairy Control Association.

ORIGEN PLUS is a member of Allice (www.allice.fr), a union of cooperatives which federates French and Belgium companies providing breeding and reproductions services.

Allice joined in 2009 the EuroGenomics consortium on behalf of the French breeding companies to set up the largest reference population in the Holstein breed. Today, Allice continues to encourage the development of the genomic selection in Europe by supporting the French members within the EuroGenomics cooperative.
